Laʻamia

Updated: Jun 12, 2024

Laʻamia is the Hawaiian name for Crescentia cujete.

Laʻamia is a medicinal tree. It was introduced to the Hawaiian island by our Polynesian ancestors. The tree can grow up to 27 feet in height. Its fruit is thin shelled with black seeds and pulp within. The bark, leaves, and fruit are medicinal.

Laʻamia ranks as a warrior plant due to its ability to directly treat respiratory infections. Its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties make this tree an exceptional warrior.

Laʻamia is used for medicine in the form of teas, tinctures, poultices, and extracts.
